The African Library Project

During the summer before my senior year of high school, I got involved with an organization called the African Library Project. I organized a book drive, and was eventually able to raise $750 and over 1,200 children's books to create a small library at Mabuwe Primary School in Botswana. Center for Student Missions

Also the summer before my senior year, I went on a week-long mission trip through my church to a less fortunate area in Philadelphia. We volunteered at various organizations throughout the week, including homeless shelters, the Inglis Home for wheelchair-bound residents, and a children's camp at a church where we spent time and built connections with underprivileged children from inner-city Philadelphia.
